Your Role: HR Business Partner

Are you ready to make a real impact in a values-driven business? As our HR Business Partner, you’ll play a vital role in driving a fair, inclusive, and high-performing culture across our operational and support functions. You’ll be a trusted advisor, coach, and change agent, supporting managers in handling all aspects of employee relations with confidence and consistency.

This is a hands-on, full-time role based at our Head Office in Waltham Abbey, with regular travel across sites. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on ER issues including performance, absence, investigations, grievances, and disciplinaries.
• Partner with line managers to resolve cases fairly, quickly, and in line with best practice.
• Coach and empower managers to take early, confident action in people matters.
• Monitor ER trends to identify risk areas and shape policy or training responses.
• Deliver engaging training sessions on HR topics such as conflict resolution and mental health.
• Continuously improve HR policies, templates, and tools.
• Represent HR in formal hearings and act as a point of escalation for complex cases.
• Support change initiatives and cross-functional projects that impact people and culture.
• Ensure compliance with employment law, internal policies, GDPR, and confidentiality standards.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience in an ER-focused or HR Business Partner role (ideally in construction, housebuilding, or a fast-paced industry).
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Confident in managing complex ER cases from start to finish.
• Skilled at building trust with stakeholders at all levels.
• A fair, commercial mindset with great communication skills.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience).
• Specialist ER training or certification (a bonus but not essential).
