Your Role: HR Business Partner
Are you ready to make a real impact in a values-driven business? As our HR Business Partner, you’ll play a vital role in driving a fair, inclusive, and high-performing culture across our operational and support functions. You’ll be a trusted advisor, coach, and change agent, supporting managers in handling all aspects of employee relations with confidence and consistency.
This is a hands-on, full-time role based at our Head Office in Waltham Abbey, with regular travel across sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on ER issues including performance, absence, investigations, grievances, and disciplinaries.
- Partner with line managers to resolve cases fairly, quickly, and in line with best practice.
- Coach and empower managers to take early, confident action in people matters.
- Monitor ER trends to identify risk areas and shape policy or training responses.
- Deliver engaging training sessions on HR topics such as conflict resolution and mental health.
- Continuously improve HR policies, templates, and tools.
- Represent HR in formal hearings and act as a point of escalation for complex cases.
- Support change initiatives and cross-functional projects that impact people and culture.
- Ensure compliance with employment law, internal policies, GDPR, and confidentiality standards.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in an ER-focused or HR Business Partner role (ideally in construction, housebuilding, or a fast-paced industry).
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Confident in managing complex ER cases from start to finish.
- Skilled at building trust with stakeholders at all levels.
- A fair, commercial mindset with great communication skills.
Qualifications
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience).
- Specialist ER training or certification (a bonus but not essential).
