Customer Service Operative

As a Customer Service Operative at Hill, you’ll play a vital role in supporting customers during their warranty period. You’ll carry out high-quality repairs across our developments, resolving issues efficiently and respectfully while ensuring customers feel informed and reassured.
You’ll also act as a role model to other operatives—observing work quality, supporting consistency, and contributing to our commitment to delivering five-star service every time.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out defect repairs during the warranty period, aiming for first-time resolution
- Keep customers informed and deliver a courteous, professional service on every visit
- Maintain a clean, tidy and respectful working environment in customer homes
- Communicate clearly with Customer Service Coordinators about progress or delays
- Conduct safety checks and work to RAMs, ensuring safe and compliant practices
- Provide feedback on operative performance and mentor junior colleagues
- Monitor and manage materials to reduce waste and support efficiency
- Carry out vehicle checks and ensure tools and equipment are maintained properly
- Record time and cost data accurately, following agreed processes
- Support improvements in quality, consistency and service delivery
What we’re looking for:
- Strong multi-skilled trade background with experience in residential settings
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
- Knowledge of RAMs, health and safety procedures, and lone working practices
- Experience working with housebuilders or within property services
- Confident communicator with good time management and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Neat, presentable and professional with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
- Comfortable supporting and mentoring others to uphold high standards
